Annual Events
Pantomime
Each year with present our much-anticipated annual Christmas Panto and all of our students get the opportunity to perform in this production again at Siamsa Tire. The Panto is primarily performed by an adult cast and our students provide the dancers and senior chorus for the full production. This gives the students the opportunity to work alongside this experienced cast of principles and see first-hand their approach to their craft. The students wholeheartedly immerse themselves in this world of fun and magic and experience a whole new genre of theatre that is pantomime. (Oh Yes they do!)
Charity Fundraising
In the lead up to the Christmas Season our students vocal focus is for our annual charity fundraiser, under the directorship of our Vocal Teacher Noelle Barrett. The event is held in early December and is an ideal platform to showcase the beautiful choral abilities of our students. The concerts is a celebration of seasonal music and each year we invite local artists to enhance the evening’s entertainment.
In 2018 we presented “Praise for Pieta” and in 2019 “Carols for Chernobyl”. Both evenings were a tremendous success raising significant funds for these worthy causes while affording the students the opportunity of giving something back to those less fortunate.
End of year Showcase
Each year we present an end of year showcase in Siamsa Tíre Theatre where the students get the opportunity to experience rehearsing and performing in a professionally run theatre. The show is devised to afford the students the opportunity to perform a variety of scenes from musicals both old and new. It gives them a chance to display all their talent and skills, through the material they have acquired throughout the year within the safety of their classes. Each year they come away with an immense sense of pride and achievement having performed to the best of their abilities to large appreciative audiences.
